Paediatric Podiatry

Children’s feet change quickly as they grow, and Andy has a special interest in paediatric podiatry. We see children of all ages, from first steps onward.

What does paediatric podiatry cover?

Paediatric podiatry covers the assessment of a child’s foot health and development, including how they walk and stand, as well as any specific concerns a parent may have noticed.

Common concerns in growing feet

  • Changes in walking pattern or gait
  • In-toeing or out-toeing
  • Complaints of foot, leg, or heel pain
  • Concerns about footwear fit

When to seek advice

Many changes in a growing child’s feet and gait are a normal part of development. It’s worth having things checked if a child complains of ongoing pain, seems to trip or fall more than expected, or if you’ve noticed a change in how they walk that hasn’t settled over time.

Our approach with younger patients

We take the time to make appointments comfortable for children, explaining what we’re doing in a way they can understand, while keeping parents informed and involved throughout the assessment.
