Biomechanics & Orthotics
Biomechanical assessment looks at how your feet, legs, and posture work together when you stand and move, and custom prescription orthotics are one of the ways we help support improved foot function and comfort.
What is a biomechanical assessment?
A biomechanical assessment involves looking at the way you stand, walk, and move, to help identify factors that may be contributing to foot, leg, or lower limb discomfort.
When should you consider an assessment?
- Ongoing foot, heel, or arch discomfort
- Leg, knee, or lower back discomfort that may be related to how you walk
- Uneven wear on the soles of your shoes
- A change in gait or posture you’ve noticed yourself, or that others have pointed out
How do custom orthotics help?
Custom prescription orthotics are made specifically for your feet, based on your individual assessment. They’re used to help support foot function and comfort as part of a broader treatment plan.
Our approach
Andy completed a course through the International College of Biomechanics in 2011 and carries out biomechanical assessment and treatment using customised prescription orthotics for a variety of foot-related conditions.
